Introductory and Junior Programs

The Game Country Archers Club has an on-going Junior and Introductory Program

INTRODUCTORY PROGRAM

The Introductory Program is intended for Adults who want to try or learn more about the lifelong sport of archery for the Grande Prairie area. We work directly with individual and small groups of 3-5 people to create a high-quality learning experience.

The Game Country Archers will supply all the necessary equipment to safely introduce you to archery.

TIME AND PLACE

Indoors: January - March - Sundays

2:15 - 3:30 p.m.

Montrose Junior High School

Grande Prairie, AB

Outdoors: April - October (weather permitting) - Sundays from 1:00-3:30 pm at the outdoor range located in Evergreen Park.

JUNIOR PROGRAM

The mission of the Junior Program is to promote the lifelong sport of archery for the Grande Prairie area. We work directly with small groups of 10-18 year-olds to create a high-quality learning experience.

The Game Country Archers Junior Program will supply all the necessary equipment to safely introduce young people to archery.

GOALS FOR THE YEAR

The 2012 year is upon us and your Junior Directors are excited with this year’s program!

The priority at the start of the year will be the Alaberta Winter Games preparation. We will be sending 8 archers to the Parkland zone during the weekend of Feb 9-12

We will continue with the FCA CanBow Program, mostly after the Alberta Winter Games. This badge program is designed to compliment an archer’s growth in the sport by providing a framework to: become knowledgeable in basic form and range safety; increase competency and basic equipment knowledge; increase skill and physiology; and prepare for tournaments. This program is designed for both target (FITA) and 3D disciplines depending on the archer’s interest.

You will be approached by your coaches to determine your interest, we look forward to seeing you in 2012. Shoot Straight!

TIME AND PLACE

Indoors: January - March - Sundays

1:00 - 2:15 p.m. - Junior shooters are invited to stay and shoot until take-down at 3:30 p.m.
